Accommodation and Fees

The accommodation payment is a contribution towards payment for the resident’s accommodation. These payments are calculated either as a Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD), or a Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP).

A RAD is determined by factors relating to the facility, its location, costs, demographics, room sizes, amenities and individual care needs. A DAP is the daily equivalent of the RAD and is determined as the financial income RAD would create based upon the current marginal interest rate (the level of income the facility would receive from the RAD). This is divided into 365 days and then calculated as the DAP.

Room Type Refundable Accomodation Deposite (RAD) Daily Accomodation Payment (DAP) Combination of both RAD + DAP
Single Room $398,055 $44.06 $199,028 + $22.03
Shared Room $388,055 $42.95 $194,028 + $21.48

For example: The DAP is based on the MPIR of: 4.04%
The maximum RAD is $398,055 with equivalent DAP of $44.06. An example of a combination RAD/DAP is: RAD (lump sum) – $199,028 and a DAP of $22.03.
