Celebrating life across all communities

Our Story

The Jesmond Group stands for excellence in Aged Care across all communities. Established in 1984, The Jesmond Group (TJG) has a proud history of caring for older Australians of all backgrounds across Sydney. We have three specialised facilities, each offering a wide variety of high-quality Aged Care services across Strathfield, Burwood and Miranda. We celebrate all cultures and experiences, and are proud of our inclusive and holistic approach to Aged Care.

We are a family-run organisation, with our original site in Strathfield conceived as a hub for members of Sydney’s South Asian community to receive culturally specific care in addition to being a space for them to maintain community relationships as they age.

Over the years our family at TJG has grown to include dedicated and passionate Aged Care experts as well as residents from diverse cultures and backgrounds. We understand the importance of culture and community. We are a strong and close-knit team of residents, staff and volunteers. We actively support and promote independence and culture, and encourage interaction and friendship among the resident community. We help our residents stay connected and involved within their own communities as well.

Over the years TJG has grown in size and scale to better serve the care needs of our residents. Our journey continues as we set new benchmarks in the care of elderly members of all cultures and communities.

We continued on our journey of growth with the acquisition of Jesmond Burwood (formerly Ainsley Nursing Home). This allowed us to care for an additional 70 people, many of whom were from the local Greek and Italian community – thus furthering our expertise in caring for C.A.L.D (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) Communities.

Building on our operation in Strathfield and Burwood and keen to grow further, in 2019 we expanded our services into the Sutherland Shire with the acquisition of Jesmond Miranda. Our award winning design allows us to provide both low and high-levels of support, enabling residents to age in place right in the heart of the Sutherland Shire. With our core values centred on maintaining happiness, dignity and independence for all, Jesmond Miranda is at the forefront of aged care – combining innovation with friendly service and the local community.

2020

2020

We made the decision to centralise operations and consolidate all homes under the banner of The Jesmond Group (TJG). TJG now operates in Strathfield, Burwood and Miranda. TJG also established it’s Support Services arm in 2020, to provide executive level support and accountability to all of their homes. Key to achieving this has been investing in key senior industry executives to oversee group Operations, Governance, People & Culture and Property. With a centralised support system in place, we are now best positioned to sustainably grow our platform and respond to the ever evolving care needs of our Residents and their loved ones.
