What is a Home Care Package?
A Home Care Package is a government-funded program that allows you to receive care services in your own home or assist you when out in the community. You can choose to live independently for as long as possible in the comfort of your home through the coordinated care you can receive from your home care package.

You can use your package to assist you with daily living tasks, such as help with housework, transport to appointments, clinical care, personal care, purchasing mobility aids and minor modifications to ensure you live in a comfortable and safe environment.

What type of Home Care Packages are available to me? 
There are four levels of home care packages, an aged care assessor will determine the level of care and supports you require following an assessment.

• Level 1 package supports people with basic care needs.
• Level 2 package supports people with low level care needs.
• Level 3 package supports people with intermediate care needs.
• Level 4 package supports people with high level care needs.

Am I eligible?
To be eligible you must be:

• 65 years or older and need services to remain at home, or
• 50 years or older (45 years or older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) with a disability, dementia or other care needs that aren’t met through other specialist services.

Once you have been assigned a package or received a letter from my aged care to start looking for a provider, you can reach out to us. We will explain the process to you, provide you with all the information you require to make an informed decision about what best suits your needs.
